Advantage Behavioral Health Systems is forging into 2009 with an exciting new counseling center!
Advantage Wellness Center will function as a separate clinic within the Advantage family of services. The Center will provide individual, group and family counseling services for our new in-network contracts with private insurance companies. These companies do not have the Core customer criteria requirement (SPMI), and therefore we can serve people with varied clinical needs. We are currently in-network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and are in process of joining the United Health Care network.
Early 2009, the Center will be housed in a professional, accessible location within Athens. Until then, Advantage Wellness Center clients will be seen after hours at the 165 Dougherty Street clinic.
We are working with the insurance companies to cover our Substance Abuse Intensive Treatment Program and Crisis Stabilization Program, but these negotiations are still in process. Most insured individuals have regular outpatient mental health services covered on their medical insurance plan, which includes mainly doctor services and therapy. Some companies also cover Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits, so these individuals can get help with relationship, work and other life issues without needing a DSM diagnosis.
We are very excited about broadening our scope of practice to be able to include more of the community with a wider range of needs. We truly are fulfilling our goal of "Building a stronger community, one person at a time!"
