CSB Information

About the CSB

The Community Service Board (CSB) is the governing body for Advantage Behavioral Health Systems, a publicly-funded provider of mental health, developmental disability and addictive disease services. CSBs throughout Georgia are comprised of members from each county the board serves. Our CSB for Advantage includes Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton counties. CSB members are appointed by county commissioners and under the provisions of state of Georgia House Bill (HB) 498, they serve three-year terms.

If you would like more information about our CSB or Advantage Behavioral Health Systems or would like to contact the CSB member(s) from your county, please call (706) 542-9739 for further details. You may also visit the Division of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases website here to learn more about these types of services.

To view the list of CSB members from the 10-county area we serve, please see the CSB Member Listing .

Monthly Community Service Board Meetings

The CSB meetings are regularly scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:00 PM (4:00 PM during Daylight Saving Time) and are usually held in the main training/meeting room at AHBS' Administrative Offices, located behind 250 North Avenue in Athens, GA. Due to holiday scheduling conflicts, meetings are not normally held in December. All interested parties are invited to attend! For directions or general questions please call (706) 542-9739.

Minutes of Monthly Meetings

These minutes are published after they have been approved/corrected by the Board at the subsequent month's meeting. For example, this means that minutes from the February meeting will not be published until they have been approved at the March meeting.
